This role is within Chamberlain Group's Sales function. A successful incumbent is expected to identify, recruit and manage specification projects from inception until the project is quoted including online tracking, CRM information, and communication with the local sales teams, promote additional professional door hardware specifications and services to our networked clients as a "pull through" sales strategy, contribute to the relationships with the existing/core architecture firms and connect the firms with the local Specification Consultants and end user teams where appropriate or required. Requires 5 years of sales/marketing in the construction industry and a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree.
Job Responsibilities:
Identify, recruit and manage specification projects from inception until the project is quoted including online tracking, CRM information, and communication with the local sales teams
Promote additional professional door hardware specifications and services to our networked clients as a "pull through" sales strategy
Responsible for relationships with architecture firms project managers on specific projects; lead product and application preference meetings with owners and architects
Utilize CRM and Specification Writing software collaboration tools; create hardware sets, editing master specification, reviewing shop drawings of distributor submittals, and providing expert analysis on product applications for projects in various markets
Collaborate closely with the local project sales team on specification projects and market meetings; obtain project schedule dates and submittals
Create technical hardware sets and specifications for the architectural community, including code compliance for new construction projects as well as aftermarket requests
Provide solutions to architects on product application requirements
Participate in pre and post installation meetings as needed; assist with revisions, access control coordination, and requests for information during all phases of the project
Develop and communicate strategic project information for a project strategy for the sales force; communicate project changes that may impact specification and sales strategy, maintain 2-way communication with field sales team
Exhibit an advanced understanding of and the ability to mentor others on electro-mechanical products and solutions including access control and software
Communicate door hardware coordination requirements and/or conflicts, such as access control, electrical requirements, and specialty doors
Maintain excellent industry/competitor product knowledge by reviewing and understanding market data of competitive activity, adapt to changes in the marketplace; mine key consumer insights and analysis, including business reviews and preparation of functional area reports
Participate or provide support for field sales teams in pre and post installation meetings as required
Comply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across their teams.

Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree
5 years of sales/marketing in the construction industry
Working knowledge of mechanical and electronic solutions, including options spanning from mechanical access/egress control to total facility
Advanced understanding of electricity and electronic components
Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Highly motivated with good planning, organization and prioritizing skills
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Team skills, both as a leader and team member
Ability to travel up to 60% of the time internationally and domestically; valid driver's license
Preferred:
AIA CSI Certifications
Product management experience
Customer relationship experience
Knowledge of the specification process
Microsoft Office Suite
Overall knowledge of GDO distribution and dealer sales is a plus
