Job Title: Service Technician, Sr.

Reports to: Service Manager/Field Service Manager

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Service Technician, Sr. to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of complex equipment, machinery, or systems. The Service Technician, Sr. will primarily work independently and act as a technical expert in resolving complex technical issues. This position may also involve training and mentoring less experienced technicians.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Diagnose and troubleshoot complex equipment, machinery, or systems to identify faults and determine required repairs accurately.
2. Independently handle advanced repairs, overhauls, component replacements, and upgrades of equipment or systems according to established procedures and safety guidelines.
3. Conduct preventative maintenance activities, including inspections, adjustments, cleaning, and lubricating machinery or systems to ensure optimal performance and extend service life.
4. Collaborate with customers to gather detailed information on equipment malfunctions or issues and provide technical expertise by recommending appropriate solutions or repairs.
5. Provide excellent customer service by ensuring clear communication with customers regarding the status of repairs, estimated timelines, and any potential issues or delays that may arise.
6. Keep accurate records of service activities, including work performed, parts used, and time spent, using company-provided software or documentation systems.
7. Train and provide technical guidance to less experienced technicians, ensuring adherence to quality standards, best practices, and safety regulations.
8. Stay updated with the latest industry trends, equipment advancements, and service techniques by participating in training programs, seminars, and workshops as required.
9. Maintain a clean and organized work area, tools, and equipment, ensuring safe and efficient operation at all times.
10. Collaborate effectively with internal teams, such as sales, engineering, or product development, to gather or provide technical inputs, troubleshoot issues, and resolve customer complaints.

Requirements:

1. High school diploma or equivalent. Relevant technical certifications or vocational training is highly preferred.
2. Proven experience as a Service Technician or in a similar role, with a minimum of 3 years of experience performing complex repairs and maintenance on mechanical, electrical, or electronic equipment.
3. Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills to identify complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.
4. Proficient in using various tools, diagnostic equipment, and software applications related to equipment servicing.
5. Solid knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, with the ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
6. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate technical information effectively to customers and team members.
7. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while also being a team player when required for collaborative projects or assignments.
8. Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
9. Physical ability to lift heavy loads, work in confined spaces, and stand for extended periods.
10. Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
