Specialty Pharmacy Technician assists a registered pharmacist with support activities and processes required to dispense high dollar/specialty medications (e.g. Oncology, Multiple Sclerosis). Collects, inputs, and verifies prescription, refill, and patient information. Being a Specialty Pharmacy Technician receives and stocks incoming supplies. May be expected to perform some clerical duties relating to the department. Additionally, Specialty Pharmacy Technician requires a high school diploma. May require Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT). Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Specialty Pharmacy Technician works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. To be a Specialty Pharmacy Technician typically requires 1-3 years of related experience. (Copyright 2024 Salary.com)

Cross training is required for the candidate to know the detal and intricacies of our pharmacy workflow; placing orders, receiving orders, accepting orders to perpetual inventory. Experience with Parata Max and the use of Kirby counting machines is a plus. Excellent customer service skills are required; our customers pay us. Experience with cash registers; you will be required to ring up prescriptions. All other duties as assigned by management.
