Special Events Manager - Casino jobs in Long Beach, CA

Essential Job Functions:

• Inform customers of parking fees
• Monitor traffic flow
• Provide directions, parking alternatives, and information upon request to visitors and staff, as best possible.
• Guide and control vehicular or pedestrian traffic.
• Direct and escort pedestrians across roadways/streets, stopping traffic as necessary.
• Communicate traffic and parking rules and other information to special event visitors.
• Report any unsafe behavior/hazard to management and/or appropriate authorities.
• Direct traffic movement or warn of hazards by using signs, flags, traffic flashlights, and hand signals.
• Distribute traffic control signs and markers/cones at designated points in the parking areas as directed by Staff Manager.
• Notify Staff Management of parking area status (space counts) via two-way radio or telephone and also any emergencies or problems that arise within the assigned parking area.

Requirements:

• Must be available weekends ( Saturday and Sunday)
• Must be able to work 8 plus hours a day
• Must be able to make the schedule time of events, from start to end
• Must be able to count money accurately.
• Must be able to write clearly and document all required information on daily paperwork form.
• Ability to communicate in a clear speech (bilingual a plus)
• Customer service skills a must
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and walk from are to area
• Must wear proper uniform and safety vest at all times.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; and use hands to handle cash and equipment.
• The employee is required to reach/waive/move with hands and arms.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move between 10-25 pounds
• Ability to waive hands and arms, holding a traffic flashlight and/or signage
• Ability to communicate via two-way radio
• Parking experience preferred but not required

Work Environment:

Employee is required to arrive at work on time as scheduled and dress appropriately. The employee is required to work outside in varying weather conditions (cold, rainy, hot and humid).
