SPECIAL EVENTS MANAGER POSITION SUMMARY
The Special Events Manager reports to the Senior Director of Philanthropy and is responsible for coordinating and overseeing all of the special events at Voices for Children and ensures that they are executed with the highest standards of professionalism and excellence, while staying within budget. The Special Events Manager works with the Senior Director of Philanthropy to budget, plan, and implement all fundraising and donor stewardship events.
The Special Events Manager should be prepared to handle matters confidentially and with the strictest security when the need arises, whether the items are labeled confidential or not. This employee must work as a committed member of the Voices for Children team.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
The successful applicant to this position will meet the following criteria:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent (e.g., AA degree 2 years of relevant experience with demonstrated writing competencies.)Two years of hands-on experience in planning, managing and overseeing large scale special events, with increasing responsibility and preferably in a nonprofit setting.
Strong computer skills with proficiency at intermediate-to-advanced level in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
COMPENSATION & WORK SCHEDULE
$33.66 - $37.02 per hour
(approximately $70,000 - $77,000 annualized) DOE
Standard work week for this position is 40 hours per week. Evenings and weekends may be required. The VFC office is open for business during the following hours, except on holidays recognized by VFC: Monday through Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Coverage at the office by the program and office staff shall be according to such schedule as developed by the President & CEO or designee. Able to occasionally work extended hours as needed, with some nights and weekends required during special events.
