Special Events Manager - Casino plans, coordinates, and improves special events designed for a casino in order to bring back guests. Negotiates contracts and obtains competitive bids from vendors to ensure the lowest bid with the highest quality of service and products. Being a Special Events Manager - Casino supervises and evaluates special events staff. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Additionally, Special Events Manager - Casino typically reports to a director. The Special Events Manager - Casino supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Special Events Manager - Casino typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Under the Direction of the Recreation & Signature events leadership team, the Special Events Manager is responsible for creating memorable experiences for all Callaway guests and visitors.
Specific duties are discussed in interviews but will include the following:
Producing Callaway Garden's Signature Events from conception to completion.
Events include, but not limited to, Masters Waterski Tournament, Summer Family Adventure, 4th of July, Labor Day Balloon Festival, Pumpkin Festival and Fantasy in Lights.
A primary function of this, and every other job at Callaway Resort & Gardens, is to ensure that each member, guest, and visitor receives the highest caliber service.
Qualifications:
Recreation Management degree, or similar, plus experience in a Resort or Attraction Setting, or
2 years of Recreation Management experience preferably in a Resort or Attraction setting in lieu of Recreation Management degree.
Must have a valid driver's license from appropriate state, in order to operate company vehicles.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays.
Familiarity with Micros, Tessitura, or other POS systems.
