The Gibsonville Parks and Recreation Department is seeking an enthusiastic, passionate, wellorganized, and self-motivated individual to assist the Special Events Coordinator in all aspects of the many special events and programs organized in the town. The selected candidate will play an important role in vendor management, preparing marketing materials and maintaining social media, as well as coordinating logistics with other town staff. The candidate will need excellent communication skills as well as the ability to work independently.
Some of the town events which the candidate will be assisting in include the Fall Festival, Groovin’ on the Green, Lighting of the Green, Market at Gibsonville, 1st Saturdays and the Veteran’s Day Breakfast.
The applicant must be available during the following:
Two 5 hour office shifts during the week (8-1PM on Wednesday and another day to complete paperwork and make phone calls)
Saturday mornings in May, June, July, August, and September.
Available for two (2) Saturday evenings in each month of June, July, August, and September. Must be available for Fall Fest which this year is October 7 through October 12, 2024.
Available Friday evening, November 15, 2024 for Lighting of the Green.
Works at least 30 hours per week on a semi-regular basis, with more time possibly during peak season. Availability to attend all the special events which many occur on the weekends and some evenings. This is also a benefited part-time position with the following benefits:
