Description
The Gift Shop Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operations of the gift shop, maintaining inventory levels, establishing excellent guest service from Team Members and contributing to overall guest experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervises the Gift Shop Team Members, working alongside the Team, observing guest interactions, resolving guest concerns and preventing discrepancies.
- Prepares schedules and delegates work to the Team, taking into consideration workload due to special events, PTO, etc.
- Trains and develops the Team, making recommendations to management regarding additional training needs, evaluations and corrective actions.
- Communicates with Team Members in order to resolve personnel problems and discuss solutions.
- Prepares Team Member paperwork, work schedules and payroll information, submitting for review in a timely manner.
- Ensures compliance with company standards for performance, service to guests, licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations.
- Resolves or refers to Management all guest concerns, complaints or suggestions in a continuous effort to provide superior guest service.
- Fosters a positive work environment that promotes teamwork and exceptional guest service.
- Conducts regular team meetings to communicate goals, share updates and address any concerns.
- Ensures optimal inventory levels by placing orders for merchandise, tracking deliveries and ensuring accurate inventory records.
- Analyzes sales trends, identifies areas of improvement and develops action plans to achieve sales targets.
- Collaborates with management to promote the gift shop through various channels, such as social media, email marketing and in-room promotions.
- Ensures the Gift Shop is clean and organized, monitoring cleaning tasks and assigning to Team Members as needed.
- Resolves or refers to management all guest concerns, complaints or suggestions in a continuous effort to provide superior guest service.
- Maintains awareness of, and effectively communicates to other staff, company promotions, events and programs.
- Provides all above guest interactions applying TRCR service standards.
- Other duties as directed by management.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, Team Members may be exposed to secondhand tobacco smoke, including regular exposure for those working on the casino floor. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and can occasionally reach a high level for short periods of time.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to sit, stand and/or walk for up to 10 hours.
- Must be able to carry, reach, twist, bend and squat frequently.
- Must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with assistance as needed.

Requirements
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND ELIGIBILITY
- Minimum age requirement for this position is 21 years old.
- Must obtain OLCC Permit within 30 days of employment.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must have 2 years’ experience in a leadership role, with preference given to those with experience working in a Hotel, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Intermediate understanding of computer programs, including all windows applications required.
- Must have strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor a team.
- Ability to operate a POS system and handle cash transactions accurately.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work well in pressure situations.
- Ability to work independently, in high pressure situations with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, verbally, in writing or by other acceptable means.
- Comply with pre-employment, random and reasonable suspicion alcohol and drug testing.
- Receive and maintain a valid gaming license from the CTCLUSI Tribal Gaming Commission.
- Availability to work all shifts including weekends and holidays based on the needs of the department and for special casino events.
