Sous Chef assists the Executive Chef in the daily kitchen operations including menu development, purchasing, inventory, cost control, and sanitation. Oversees the activities of the kitchen staff and monitors food production and presentation. Being a Sous Chef resolves operational issues. Performs quality checks on ingredients and prepared dishes. Additionally, Sous Chef complies with all safety and food sanitation laws and regulations. Supervises, trains, and mentors staff. May require an associate degree in culinary arts or equivalent. Typically reports to an executive chef. The Sous Chef supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Sous Chef typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Overview: A Sous Chef for any Pomegranate Hospitality concept is a part of the management team responsible for teaching and overseeing daily culinary operations, achieving consistent food quality standards and ensuring the company core values are being executed. This role will manage the development of the Culinary facility, operating culinary systems and team and create a successful working relationship with the Service Team. It is essential to have a strong hold on the company's culture and values to ensure they are implemented everyday with each team member. 

    What we hope you bring to the team:

    • Previous experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a high-volume culinary establishment
    • Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, flavor profiles, and food presentation.
    • Proficient in menu planning, recipe development, and food cost management.
    • Ability to lead and motivate a team, delegate tasks, and maintain a positive work environment.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure.
    • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
    • Culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus.
