A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SOUS CHEF
nAs a Sous Chef, you play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and acquisition goals. You provide preparation and cooking support for our chef while ensuring our kitchen staff adheres to set standards, procedures, department rules, and sanitation requirements.
nTaking charge of kitchen opening, you set up and stock stations with all of the necessary supplies for that day's menu. You chop vegetables, cut meat, and prepare sauces as well as ensure the proper cooking of menu items according to the chef's instructions. Cooperating with all kitchen staff, you make sure that all dishes are high quality and come out in a timely manner. At the end of each shift, you take care of any leftover food and stock inventory in preparation for the next shift. You leave each day with a sense of accomplishment, knowing that you play a key role in the smooth operation of our kitchen!
