Sommelier manages the daily activities necessary for maintenance and promotion of the organization's wine collection. Identifies and purchases wines for the organization. Being a Sommelier monitors the conditions of the wine cellar, ensuring optimal storage. Works with the kitchen staff to develop food and wine pairings. Additionally, Sommelier recommends and serves wine to guests. May require an associate degree or equivalent. May possess or be working towards certification. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Sommelier works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Description du poste: Works closely with the Food and Beverage Director to: help guests navigate through the 1,300-bottle wine list, train and educate staff, and create wine pairings for the restaurant's seasonal menu. Sommeliers are also encouraged to teach twice monthly wine classes about topics that interest them. The restaurant's inventory is done on a monthly basis and the sommelier team is expected to contribute to reaching target goals through creative and profitable means.
Availability Required:
Afternoons and Evenings, Thursday-Sunday
Monthly Inventory and Industry Tastings (variable days w/ ample notice)
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Continually strive to develop yourself in all areas of managerial and professional development - to include regular training sessions on table service and wine service.
