Responsibilities :
Curate and maintain an extensive wine list that reflects the diverse tastes and preferences of our guests, with a focus on quality, variety, and value.
Collaborate with the culinary team to develop wine pairings that enhance the flavors and textures of our menu items.
Provide expert guidance to guests on wine selection, offering recommendations based on their preferences, budget, and menu choices.
Conduct wine tastings and educational seminars for staff and guests to enhance their appreciation and understanding of wine.
Maintain proper wine storage and inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and rotating stock to ensure freshness and quality.
Train and mentor restaurant staff on wine service protocols, including proper glassware, decanting, and serving techniques.
Stay informed about industry trends, new wine releases, and emerging regions to continually enhance the wine program.
Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests related to wine with professionalism and attention to detail.
Collaborate with the management team to develop promotional events and wine-focused experiences to drive business and enhance the guest experience.
Qualifications :
Certified Sommelier designation (e.g., Court of Master Sommeliers, Wine & Spirit Education Trust) preferred.
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Sommelier in a fine dining restaurant or upscale wine bar.
Extensive knowledge of wine varietals, regions, and vintages, with a passion for discovering and sharing new wines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage guests and staff in meaningful wine discussions.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and guest preferences.
Proficiency in wine service techniques, including wine presentation, decanting, and proper glassware.
Familiarity with wine cellar management software and inventory tracking systems.
