Solderer sets-up and solders-together components to assemble fabricated metal items. May require a high school diploma or its equivalent and 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Being a Solderer is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Additionally, Solderer performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision; typically reports to a supervisor or manager. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Summary/Objective:
Solder battery sub-assemblies, chargers and accessories by hand according to writtten work instructions.
Duties/Responsibilities:
1) Melts and applies solder along adjoinging edges of workpieces to solder joints using soldering iron or electronic-ultrasonic equipment.
2) Maintain soldering equipment and report damages to supervisor.
3) Maintain daily production records.
4) Complete daily requirements in fast paced assembly line.
5) Maintain and follow established safety and electrostatic discharge procedures.
Experience Required: 1 year Electrical Wiring/Soldering experience
Education Required: High School or equivalent experience
Skills/Competencies: Ability to read and write English, Basic Math Concepts (addition and subtraction), Precise, steady hand eye coordination
Supervisory Responsibilities: No
Work Environment: Production floor, will come into contact with electronic and mechanical components
Physical Demands: Ability to sit for extended periods of time, adept hand eye coordination, observe through a microscope, stand, frequently lift and/or move approximately 5 lbs. and on occasion lift a maximum of 15 lbs.
