Soil Scientist studies, investigates, and conducts experiments on different soil/plant types to determine use capabilities of soils, and effects of alternative practices on soil productivity. Applies a wide range concepts, practices, and procedures from two or more specialized fields of science, such as agronomy, soil science, forestry, or agriculture. Being a Soil Scientist may require a bachelor's degree in agricultural sciences or a related field with at least 5 years of work experience. May direct the work of a small group of employees. Additionally, Soil Scientist relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Typically reports to a senior manager and may be considered the lead for a specific area or unit.     **Job Overview:**

    We are seeking a hardworking and reliable General Laborer to assist in our orchard removal and wood chipping operations. The successful candidate will start with general labor duties with the potential for career advancement into roles such as Heavy Equipment Operator.

    **Responsibilities:**

    • Assist in the removal of trees and brush, ensuring adherence to safety and environmental standards.
    • Operate wood chipping machinery under supervision.
    • Perform routine maintenance on equipment.
    • Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment.
    • Clear debris and ensure cleanliness of the worksite.
    • Follow instructions from supervisors and collaborate with the team to complete projects efficiently.
    • Participate in safety meetings and training sessions.

    **Qualifications:**

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Physical fitness and the ability to perform labor-intensive tasks.
    • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
    • Basic understanding of forestry operations and equipment is a plus.
    • Strong work ethic and reliability.
    • Ability to communicate effectively and follow safety protocols.

    Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temp-to-hire

    Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour

    Expected hours: 30 – 50 per week

    Schedule:

    • 8 hour shift
    • Overtime
