Soil Scientist studies, investigates, and conducts experiments on different soil/plant types to determine use capabilities of soils, and effects of alternative practices on soil productivity. Applies a wide range concepts, practices, and procedures from two or more specialized fields of science, such as agronomy, soil science, forestry, or agriculture. Being a Soil Scientist may require a bachelor's degree in agricultural sciences or a related field with at least 5 years of work experience. May direct the work of a small group of employees. Additionally, Soil Scientist relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Typically reports to a senior manager and may be considered the lead for a specific area or unit. We are Currently Hiring for our summer season. You would be crop scouting and field inspecting. This is a seasonal Position we expect to last from June 20th through the beginning of August.
Our Field Technicians work with regional managers to inspect seed corn fields daily, Document Findings, maintain communication on changing field conditions.
Requirements:
Valid Drivers license with ability to pass driving record and background check.
Your own reliable vehicle (mileage is reimbursed)
Able to work outdoors in all conditions;
Handle daily reporting/tracking for jobs;
Safe use of company equipment;
Ability to work independently and stay self-motivated;
Able to lift 50lbs and walk extended periods of time in a field;
Basic competance with technology (Ipad, email, windows pc, google drive, web based platforms, etc.);
Any agricultural work experience is a plus but not required;
