Soil Conservationist develops and implements policies and procedures for soil erosion control, moisture conservation, and sound land use. Conducts and participates in environmental studies. Being a Soil Conservationist applies a wide range concepts, practices, and procedures from two or more specialized fields of science, such as agronomy, soil science, forestry, or agriculture. May require a bachelor's degree in agricultural sciences or a related field with at least 5 years of work experience. Additionally, Soil Conservationist may direct the work of a small group of employees. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Responsibilities:
- Assist in the continued development and implementation of safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
- Conduct routine inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and develop preventive measures
- Provide safety training and education programs to employees on topics such as hazard identification, emergency response, and personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Help maintain accurate records of safety incidents, inspections, and training activities
- Collaborate with management and employees to promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability
- Stay up-to-date with changes in safety regulations and industry best practices
Qualifications:
- Solid understanding of Basic OSHA standards
- Knowledge of EPA regulations and workers compensation laws
- Strong understanding of root cause analysis techniques
- Certification in First Aid, CPR, and other relevant safety certifications
- Excellent report writing skills
- Willing to travel to out of town work sites when necessary
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

- Ability to work outside, and on your feet for up to 8 hours a day
