Overview: Golden Sands Resource Conservation & Development Council, Inc. is seeking a Resource Conservationist for a 1 ½ year term position.
This position will work in a joint capacity with Golden Sands Resource Conservation & Development Council Inc. (Golden Sands RC&D) and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) to assist in the implementation of conservation provisions of the Farm Bill, with major emphasis on implementation of the Regional Conservation Partnership Program.
This position will be based in the USDA-NRCS State Office in Madison, Wisconsin. An alternate duty location may be negotiable. Telework flexibilities are afforded to this position based on experience and work duty requirements. Position duration may extend beyond 1 ½ years, dependent upon funding availability.
The Resource Conservationist will be responsible for providing assistance to the NRCS Wisconsin Financial Assistance Programs Division with emphasis on implementation of the Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP). Work duties will include, but not limited to, working with conservation partners to draft and edit program agreements, collecting, organizing, and processing payment reimbursements; and coordinating with internal NRCS staff and external conservation partners for implementation Farm Bill Programs, including annual program signups.
This position is made available as a result of a cooperative agreement between Golden Sands RC&D and NRCS.

Work Schedule:
Full-time work schedule. Telework flexibilities will be afforded to this position. The amount/percent of time of telework will be based upon experience and demonstration of ability to work independently, and also based on specific work duties at any particular time.
Compensation:
$23.49 – $34.76 an hour (GS-7 Step 1 through GS-11 Step 1) commensurate with experience. Benefits include general paid time off, adjusted pay increase of $2.75/hr after the completion of the 90-day probationary period, and a Simple IRA retirement plan.
