Soil Conservationist develops and implements policies and procedures for soil erosion control, moisture conservation, and sound land use. Conducts and participates in environmental studies. Being a Soil Conservationist applies a wide range concepts, practices, and procedures from two or more specialized fields of science, such as agronomy, soil science, forestry, or agriculture. May require a bachelor's degree in agricultural sciences or a related field with at least 5 years of work experience. Additionally, Soil Conservationist may direct the work of a small group of employees. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Job Description: Ninyo & Moore Geotechnical & Environmental Consultants has an immediate opening for an ICC Special Inspector with multiple certifications in the Las Vegas, Nevada area. The successful candidate will be thoroughly knowledgeable regarding the standards related to the construction and inspection of structural steel welding, bolting, concrete, masonry and/or grading. The candidate must be able to read and understand structural blue prints and current code requirements. Field duties will include field inspection of structural steel, bolting, welding, masonry, concrete and/or soils. Maintenance of proper and complete files of field and laboratory data, reports, letters, RFI's, and other pertinent field data as well as clear communications with the Project Manager and the client's representatives are required.
Education: Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred, not required. Current ICC Special Inspection and related certifications required.
Required Skills: The successful candidate should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to work with drop box and laptop reporting, ability to learn or already know/understand Clark County reporting requirements along with surrounding jurisdictions, 3 years of experience working in the materials testing and inspection industry, a positive attitude, good organizational skills and a strong work ethic. Candidate may be subject to a background check and drug screen test. Must have current valid driver's license and a good driving record.
