Soil Conservationist develops and implements policies and procedures for soil erosion control, moisture conservation, and sound land use. Conducts and participates in environmental studies. Being a Soil Conservationist applies a wide range concepts, practices, and procedures from two or more specialized fields of science, such as agronomy, soil science, forestry, or agriculture. May require a bachelor's degree in agricultural sciences or a related field with at least 5 years of work experience. Additionally, Soil Conservationist may direct the work of a small group of employees. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.     Job Title:                     Production Team Member- Soil Sorter     

    Job Summary:            Sorts and counts soiled textiles to prepare them for washing.

    Role Priorities:

     

    • Receive soiled mesh bags on Monorail.
    • Operate Computer Vac-Station.
    • Sort textiles by kind and color.
    • Count textiles by route and customer.
    • Ensure cleanliness of work area
    • Assist in maintaining the machines are working properly by informing Supervisor who will make minor repairs to equipment and requisition major repairs to Maintenance.
    • Ensure quality of product and meet daily production quantity goals.
    • Work in other areas of department as necessary.

    Role Requirements and Essential Job Functions:

    • Training period of 2-4 weeks to become familiar with routes and customers, department routine, company standards, and to attain normal efficiency.
    • Must have ability to stand and walk all day with strength and dexterity to handle heavy loads.
    • Involves lifting and/or moving 25lbs frequently and twisting, bending, turning, and reaching.
    • Must be able to assist Supervisor in improving a system of production control, standard operating procedures, safety, and quality control.
    • Repetitive work.
    • Ability to reach and write English.
    • Basic mathematic knowledge including adding/subtracting.

    Skills and Experience:

    • Ability to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of safety, quality, and productivity.
    • Interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Team player.
    • Some computer knowledge.
    • Basic math skills.
    • Commitment to company values.

    Work Environment:

    • Inside typical plant environment- near the loading dock, exposure to weather conditions prevalent at the time; can be hot and humid inside the plant; possibly wet and odors from soiled textiles; must be aware of safety protocols and avoiding injury from bumping head from low rails and injury to hands from moving parts of machinery and tools.

    Education:

    •  High school diploma or equivalent.

     General work hours are Monday through Friday.
