Job Announcement
The Jefferson County Soil and Water Conservation District is seeking a full time individual. This position will require travel around to multiple counties. The individual must love working outdoors and have the ability to identify common agricultural plants and grasses. Ideal candidate should be a fast learner, organized, self-motivated, and possess the ability to work independently.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma required
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Background in agriculture is preferred
• The ability to identify common grasses and plants is preferred
• Computer skills are required
• Excellent oral and written skills are a must
• Must be comfortable working in close proximity to other staff and the general public in a professional and courteous manner
• Ability to work outdoors in adverse conditions and walk long distances on uneven terrain, as significant outdoor work is expected
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more in order to move tools, supplies and equipment
• Must have a valid driver’s license with proof of insurance and reliable transportation
• Must be able to pass a federal background check, as required by USDA
• Must be willing to follow federal vaccination guidelines
