Soil Conservationist develops and implements policies and procedures for soil erosion control, moisture conservation, and sound land use. Conducts and participates in environmental studies. Being a Soil Conservationist applies a wide range concepts, practices, and procedures from two or more specialized fields of science, such as agronomy, soil science, forestry, or agriculture. May require a bachelor's degree in agricultural sciences or a related field with at least 5 years of work experience. Additionally, Soil Conservationist may direct the work of a small group of employees. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The scientist will apply Rietveld refinement approaches to time-resolved synchrotron X-ray diffraction data collected during the growth, transformation, and dissolution of common soil phases. The scientist will summarize results and submit articles for publication in professional mineralogy journals. This position requires an M.S. in geosciences.
