The role:
We are seeking a Software Systems Coordinator to join the Information Systems Field Operations Services team. The Field Operations Services team supports approximately forty software applications that perform critical highway safety, maintenance, and operation functions. An example is
TripCheck
system which provides information to the public about congestion, construction events, incidents, and camera images. The team also supports systems that perform critical functions such as displaying messages on roadside signs to alert motorists of a hazardous condition, and dispatching staff to the location of a vehicle accident to help reroute traffic. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating efforts related to small to medium sized software system changes or the replacement of hardware equipment. Apply today to join our team!

A day in the life:
-
Lead the coordination of small to medium size software or hardware efforts from planning through execution. Examples include coordinating all tasks for a minor software system enhancements or coordinating the effort to replace server/network equipment.

Determine scope of work, tasks, resource assignments, and estimated durations to create a work break down schedule for the work assignment.

Track and monitor task progress by facilitating team meetings. Document progress in a status reports and present status and issues to interested parties.

Gather, document, and maintain system or hardware information to ensure data is accurate.

Maintain program SharePoint site pages containing information about systems, hardware, and processes.
-
Assist with contract management duties such as creating statements of work, maintaining accurate contract metadata, tracking contractor deliverables and invoices, and performing actions needed to initiate a new contract or amendment.

Assist with defining program process improvements such as documenting as-is and to-be process improvements. Communicate and train team members and monitor and track to ensure compliance with process and procedures.

Perform system health checks/tests and assist team members with researching and coordination tasks to resolve reported system issues.

Minimum qualifications:
Four (4) years of information systems experience coordinating information systems efforts
OR
An associate's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field, OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field;
AND
two (2) years of information systems experience coordinating information systems efforts
OR
A bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or related field may substitute for all of the above.

Experience coordinating efforts that involve multiple resources to accomplish an objective. Preference will be given to applicants whose coordination experience involved software systems or hardware/network equipment.

Proficient in verbal and written communication. Preference will be given to applicants who have created and presented status reports to management.

Ability to manage multiple concurrent coordination assignments. Preferences will be given to applicants whose resumes and cover letters articulate examples of how they managed multiple concurrent coordination assignments.

Demonstrated experience performing tasks to improve process and procedures. Preference will be given to applicants who have experiencing documenting process and procedures.
