Software Support Engineer jobs in Alabama
Software Support Engineer troubleshoots and develops technical solutions related to software and setup errors for field engineers, technicians, and customers. Creates workaround procedures when standard procedures have failed and ensures issues are resolved in a timely fashion. Being a Software Support Engineer escalates urgent problems requiring more in-depth knowledge to appropriate internal resources. Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Additionally, Software Support Engineer typically reports to a supervisor or manager. To be a Software Support Engineer typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Under the direction of senior systems and software engineers, the Engineer / Analyst will perform software development and integration of models into the distributed execution environment of IAMD M&S capabilities to include IAMDSIM and ETESIM. In addition to integration support, this position may include making updates and improvements to existing models of the various sensors, shooters, and BMC3 elements. The Engineer / Analyst must be able to serve as an individual contributor as directed by a technical lead, as well as work effectively in a team environment by collaborating with and interacting with other developers, engineers, and analysts.
