Software Quality Assurance Tester tests basic features of new software releases using pre-defined test plans and scripts to identify defects. Follows uniform testing procedures. Being a Software Quality Assurance Tester documents results and uses designated systems and tools to track outcomes. Performs follow-up rounds of testing as needed. Additionally, Software Quality Assurance Tester may require an associate degree. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Software Quality Assurance Tester works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. The primary responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Software Tester will include, but not be limited to: learning about, testing, and documenting issues found in Encartele’s custom web application. The QA Software Tester will work closely with the software development team and the project stakeholders in order to help create the best, error-free product possible.
The QA Software Tester will document all software bugs and improvements they come across with clarity and specificity.
The QA Software Tester must enjoy learning new things, be a self-motivator, and must have a working knowledge of basic logic, the scientific method, and web-applications.
In addition, the QA Software Tester must also be relentlessly detail-oriented as well as being PC proficient with various Microsoft products and Windows-based software programs.
Qualifications:
One year proven, technical support and communication experience.
College degree not required, but study or certification in applicable field preferred.
Experience with HTML, Javascript, and CSS preferred.
Experience with open-source technologies and products preferred.
Experience with diagnosing and troubleshooting computers preferred.
