Software Quality Assurance Supervisor supervises the daily operations of a software quality assurance team. Assigns testing tasks to team members. Being a Software Quality Assurance Supervisor trains team on tools and methodologies to ensure that software tests identify defects and comply with quality standards. Job Summary:
Responsible for managing the Quality Assurance functions of the division, including but not limited to planning, developing, practicing and administering Quality policies, procedures and programs to insure compliance to the ISO 9001 standard, customer specifications, and customer satisfaction. Manage the Quality Assurance personnel and promote positive relations with the production staff to enhance the Quality culture and awareness.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Monitor safety on a daily basis, observe and educate employees to improve the safety knowledge and culture (add forklift operator safety plan, emergency action plan and accident reporting)
· Complete knowledge of the QMS system and maintenance of its conformance to ISO 9001:2008.(add quality policy manual, non conforming material control
· Responsible that the Company Quality Policy and Quality Objectives are communicated at all levels of the division.
· Align Quality Department implementation and strategies to be consistent with Quality Policy and Quality Objectives of the Company.
· Responsible for the quality orientation of new employees to job descriptions and training documents
· Supervise inspection and testing activities in QA lab to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities and products.
· Assists in identifying gauging requirements and help procure new gages as needed.
· Help in the disposition of nonconforming product. (Nonconforming Material Reporting - NCMR).
· Act as final authority on the submission of ISIR / PPAP submissions to the customer.
· Participate in the Corrective and Preventive Action Process and also in the solution of nonconforming material occurrences that didn’t lead to corrective action.
· Assist other department managers in the achievement of their quality objectives. Be familiar with the QMS master list of quality documents, how to access QMS documents, the control of QMS documents and the control of QMS records and be able to develop standards, work instructions, methods for inspection, testing, and evaluate products and processes
· Assist QA Manager or other department managers with Continuous Improvement ideas and Internal Audits. (internal audit procedure, internal audit schedule, internal audit guidelines)
· Assist production department leads in the development of operators capable of insuring part quality requirements during production (insert shop floor work center console work instructions, work instructions for accessing BOL, identification n and traceability tags, material color codes, sampling plans, first and last piece inspection, boom plate surface criteria, boundary samples, cut and etch procedures, armor procedure, engineering change notification,
· Advises upper management of significant issues or developments identified during quality activities. (receiving inspection, MRB Process, first and last piece inspection, PPAP)
· Decision authority over quality issues and discrepancies at the plant level. The authority to approve customer returns and the costs associated with such decisions. (add MRB Material Review Board Process,
· Proficiency in calibration (add calibration document, mountz torque calibration, indicator gage , caliper, basic calibration, micrometer, height gage, scales and tape measure, pin)
· Complete responsibility for customer satisfaction through their quality of work. The goal is to reduce variability to achieve zero defects for our products and services while reducing costs. (work instruction to the ncmr form, rma process, ncmr log instructions, notice and response to corrective and preventative action requests, on hold and scrap instructions)
· Be able to do layouts and inspections on parts as needed. Advanced GD & T, Faro, CMM, Inspection knowledge
· Supervise the training and development of quality technicians. mechanical tensile tester, virtek/laser qs scanner, hardness tester, brinnel hardness tester)

NON ESSENTIAL DUTIES
· Participate and support company initiatives, programs, events, and meetings for employee enhancement and development.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Supervise Quality staff day to day activities for Quality Manager
Monitor, evaluate, and document performance for counseling and advancement.
· Supervise other staff in the absence of management as needed.
minimum qualifications
Education: A bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of experience and education
Experience: 5 plus years in a Quality Engineering/Technician discipline and supervisory position.
Computer Skills: CAD, Microsoft Office, SPC based software.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: ISO 9001 auditor training.
Special Requirements: Proficient in SPC, Advanced GD & T training, Blueprint reading, PPAP submissions including FMEA and Control Plan creation. Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes to include: stamping, laser, CNC punch, press brake and welding. Good communication skills, team player, ability to multi-task. Proficient in ISO 9001 QMS maintenance
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, reports, regulations, specifications, and legal documents.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints.
Ability to generate graphs and reports for presentation that clearly communicate data, concepts, and ideas to employees, customers, and top management.
