The Quality Assurance Supervisor at The Popcorn Factory is responsible for ensuring all employees are practicing good manufacturing practices in and around open food production areas. The ideal candidate for this role exhibits excellent communication skills, are able to effectively assess production practices, provide recommendations to upper-level management, and implement procedures to ensure compliance.
• Knowledge of FDA, GMP and SQF regulations
• Work with QA Manger in the Implementation of SQF program
• SQF Practitioner back-up
• Familiarize and learn customer and other certification bodies
• Knowledge, support and be able to perform quality inspections in the facility
• Perform training and coach direct reports in Quality Systems
• Supervision and maintenance of Certificate of Analysis program
• Review and approve direct reports timecard and time off request
• Maintain direct reports day to day schedule
• Conduct training/meeting with direct reports
• Maintaining environmental monitoring program
• Schedule calibration of Quality tools/equipment such as moisture analyzer, facility scales, etc and maintain calibration records
• Conduct scheduled internal audits such as GMP, record results and be able to communicate issues with leadership
• Ability to communicate these concepts to clearly and professionally to line workers.
• Participates in the mock recalls
• Assist Quality Manager in special projects and generating KPI
• Assist in monitoring of food safety and quality critical control points
• Communicate trends to Management to initiate documented investigation and partake in the investigation
• Perform product evaluation and or investigation and assist in performing root cause analysis
• Track customer complaints and assist in formulating corrective actions
• Manage retain samples
• Update, monitor, and retain all required documents related to GFSI, including Food Defense, GMP, and HACCP programs
• Maintain expired lot inventory and samples for necessary product testing and or evaluations
• Assist with food safety training for the facility
• Manage quality and food safety incidents
• Actively participate in audit certifications
• Partner with operations leaders on driving continuous process improvement
• Any additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
