The Work

The Software Quality Assurance Engineer will drive delivered quality on a range of custom web business applications that can be described as:

• Rich HTML5/CSS3/JavaScript-driven front end UI's utilizing responsive layouts/designs
• Complex business rules with many use cases
• Applications and clients operating in a diverse range of industries
• Systems that often integrate with other enterprise systems such as CRM, ERP, and Accounting software.
• Business intelligence and collaboration systems built in the Microsoft Power Platform environment

Skills & Requirements

The position requires proven work experience in software testing with an Agile background that encompasses both manual and automated testing.

The Software Quality Assurance Engineer will work within multidisciplinary Scrum teams, so strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to roll up one’s sleeves will go a long way.  The ability to research, reason and communicate findings and avenues for quality improvements to development teams and stakeholders like Delivery Leads is crucial.

Specific requirements include the following:

• Bachelor’s Degree favored, preferably in Business, Computer Science and/or Engineering
• 4 years of hands-on experience with software testing
• 4 years in a professional environment executing root cause analyses, continuous improvement and continuous delivery
• Ability to work independently, but also collaboratively, in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
• Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are pretty darn important, too

Some Specifics

At Mercury you will:

• Create software testing strategies
• Execute detailed manual testing of new features as well as regression testing
• Detect and track software defects and inconsistencies
• Help development teams increase shipped quality following test plan execution
• Define opportunities and/or develop automated test suites
• Recommend application performance guidelines and improvements
• Apply quality engineering principles throughout the Agile product lifecycle
• Provide support and documentation

This Is A Remote-Friendly Position

Mercury is a distributed workforce with engineers located throughout the United States. We are open to applicants located anywhere in the continental United States (we find all team members being within 3 time zones of each other best for collaboration) and also Tampa-based developers.

Salary and Benefits

Exact compensation and benefits may vary based on skills, experience and location:

• $95,000 - $110,000
