We are seeking a Director, Quality and Mission Assurance to be based at our Canoga Park, CA or West Palm Beach, FL office.
This position would be responsible for leading Quality & Mission Assurance (Q&MA) for the Space Propulsion & Power Systems (SPPS) sector within the Aerojet Rocketdyne segment. The SPPS sector is a unique business with highly-complex products from both legacy programs, and those which are transitioning from development to production. The production environment for this high-value, low volume sector requires a creative Quality professional that can innovate and deploy tools beyond traditional quality metrics. The Q&MA team ensures that delivered products and/or services conform to contractual and Aerojet Rocketdyne requirements for product quality. They ensure adherence to and compliance with established Company quality policies, practice and government regulations by developing, administering and maintaining quality assurance systems, standards and activities. Specifically, this position provides Q&MA leadership and guidance for the Space Propulsion & Power System sectorto ensure continuity and standardization across sites.
This position requires 25 -50% travel domestically.
Essential Functions:
25% - Provides quality leadership and strategic direction to multiple SPPS sites, including the development of overall staffing plans and initiatives. Collaborate with peers across Q&MA, programs and other process organizations to assure alignment of plans and initiatives. Champion the evolution to a lean and effective quality management system supporting design, development, procurement, manufacturing and quality systems & processes, infrastructure and workforce that will meet the current and future needs of the SPPS business.
25% - Participate in the development and execute the Quality and Mission Assurance strategic plan in support of the Company's long-term goals. Conceptualizes and drives quality system, process and tool improvements that cross site and sector boundaries. Implement risk based approaches to reduce quality oversight while improving product quality. Shares and leverages best practices across enterprise. Keeps abreast of industry trends, best practices and technologies and develops road-map for improving quality and lowering costs.
20% - Creates standardized processes across sites; develops and monitors quality metrics and leading indicators and implements corrective and preventive actions to reduce cost of poor quality, eliminate customer escapes and ensure on-time delivery. Creates communication channels, methods and tools to align and inform leadership and customers, both internal and external, to ensure customer satisfaction. Collaborates with customer Quality counterparts to improve customer relationships, champion joint improvement initiatives, respond to customer concerns, and streamline requirements.
20% - Active member of the SPPS leadership team working in collaboration with multiple departments to drive the success of the sector. Strategic planning and implementation of Company goals and objectives to support growth and excellence. Leads in partnership with other process organizations to improve the over performance of the sector.
10% - Monitor and manage organization financial performance and take action as required to meet goals. Identifies the need for capital investment to support business needs (including new technology) and develops business cases supporting timely acquisition.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $160,500 - $298,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
