Software Engineering Director directs and oversees the software engineering function in developing, releasing, and maintaining software applications/operating systems according to business needs. Responsible for coordination of daily IT functions associated with Engineering Services applications delivery, maintenance, and operations; keeping abreast of changes with the integration technologies and disseminating information to ITD staff; and collaborating with department personnel to successfully develop, maintain, and administer IT systems and applications. Serves as a Lead Worker. Leads a group of employees and coordinates the work of contractors. Reports to the IT Applications division leadership. Work requires contact with other managers, team leaders, government officials and private entities. Employees at this level are virtually self-supervising and assume direct accountability for the work product.
