Social Media Communications Specialist jobs in Urbandale, IA

Job Purpose:  The Communications and Social Media Specialist will lead, together with the Science Writer, the communications initiatives for Trace Genomics. They are responsible for producing high-quality content that engages customers and builds brand recognition, including creating informative content, press releases, articles, social media campaigns, and media opportunities to share our company’s brand, products, and services.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Partner with the Science Writer to create informative and interesting press releases, press/customer kits, newsletters, and related marketing materials.
• Create and maintain a strong online presence for our company, implementing online marketing strategies through social media accounts. 
• Oversee earned media and paid media partners. 
• Develop and implement effective communication strategies that build customer loyalty programs, brand awareness, and customer satisfaction. 
• Prepare detailed media activity reports. 
• Plan and manage the design, content, and production of all marketing materials.
• Partner with the Commercial team leadership to generate innovative ideas and strategies for marketing strategies. 
• Collaborate with Sales and Product to support in-market initiatives. 
• Supervise projects to ensure all content is publication-ready. 
• Create communication and marketing strategies for new products, launches, events, and promotions. 
• Respond to communication-related issues in a timely manner. 
• Train co-workers to use social media in a cohesive and beneficial way. 
• Facilitate online conversations with customers and respond to queries. 

Qualifications

• 2-3 years experience in a similar required.
• Proven experience creating target content required.
• Strong knowledge of communication practices and techniques required.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills required.
• A bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a similar field is strongly preferred.
• AgTech and/or startup experience are strongly preferred.
