Additionally, Social Media Communications Specialist tracks and analyzes metrics to gain insight on traffic, demographics, and effectiveness. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Social Media Communications Specialist work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.     The Pro Sports Social Media Specialist is tasked with managing social media content during our pro sports seasons, especially on, but not limited to, gamedays. This role includes crafting engaging content, managing a content calendar, and live tweeting to boost audience engagement.  


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage social media platforms during games/events, including live tweeting, posting updates, and engaging with followers.
    • Create original, engaging content that showcases the personality of our pro athletes and fans.
    • Help maintain a content calendar to ensure consistent and timely posting across platforms.
    • Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to align social media content with overall brand strategies.
    • Monitor social media performance and provide insights for optimization.
    • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices for social media content creation and management.

    Duration:

    • Starting in May - End date dependent upon postseason participation by our pro teams.

    Requirements

    • Proficiency in using DSLR cameras to capture content. 
    • Experience capturing action or sports content is highly preferred
    • Experience with Adobe software, particularly Photoshop and Premiere Pro, for editing and enhancing visuals.
    • Knowledge of social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, including the ability to engage and interact with audiences.
    • Experience in live tweeting events to provide real-time updates and enhance audience engagement.
    • Experience working in a fast-paced environment where quick decision-making was required. Experience working in a college athletic department or professional sports environment is highly preferred.
