Job Title Communications Strategist II

Job Classification Exempt

Duties and Responsibilities

This position will be supporting the strategic communications of The National Reactor Innovation Center at the Idaho National Laboratory in Idaho Falls Idaho. The ideal candidate will have experience working with Engineers and Scientists supporting communications associated with highly technical information. This position requires the following skills:

• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish tasks.
• Works under general supervision; typically reports to a team lead or supervisor but is self motivated and does not require daily monitoring of activities.
• Responsible for a broad range of communication initiatives and outreach activities that educate, inform, and build relationships with a variety of stakeholders with different levels of knowledge about the subject.
• Responsible for the research, strategy, planning, integration, and execution of communication strategies, plans, and message management processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, writing, or other appropriate area of specialization from an accredited college or university;
• Five (5) years of relevant experience; and
• Proficient in:
• advanced oral and written communications;
  • advanced writing and editing;
  • advanced problem solving
  • social media writing and analysis

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described herein are representative of those which may need to be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Employees must possess the ability to work in an office environment. If required, employees must be able to operate a motor vehicle which may require sitting for prolonged periods of time to visit other company sites. Must have hearing and speech to communicate in person, before groups, and over the telephone. Standing in work areas and walking between work areas may be required. This position may require an employee to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb or balance, reach, push, and pull. The employee may also be required to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
