We are looking for a dynamic, creative, charismatic individual to join our newsroom as Social Media Specialist, ready to engage audiences on all social media platforms and out in the community.
The right candidate will have their finger on the pulse of the community in Hot Springs and Garland County, creating visual and written content for our publication’s social media, website and newsletters.
Social Media Specialists Job Responsibilities:
· Develop and curate engaging content for social media platforms.
· Attend events and produce and host live social media content.
· Create and edit video, written and photo content.
· Maintain unified and voice across different social media channels.
· Monitor social media channels for industry trends.
· Interact with users and respond to social media messages, inquiries, and comments.
· Assist in the development and management of social media engagement and strategy.
Social Media Specialists Qualifications / Skills:
· Passion for social media and proficiency with major social media platforms and social media management tools
· MUST BE COMFORTABLE IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA
· You’re a news nerd, keeping up with the latest topics to generate leads and develop compelling content
· Proficiency with shooting video and editing tools, and digital media formats
· Excellent social listening skills
· Ability to understand historical, current, and future trends in the digital content and social media space
· Top-notch written and verbal communication skills
· Impeccable time management skills with the ability to multitask
· Detail-oriented approach with ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
Education and Experience Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in communications, mass media, marketing or a related field
· 1-3 years experience with B2C social media marketing or content development
· Direct experience using social media management tools
· Experience with Google Suite (Drive, Sheets, Calendar)
· Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Premier Pro) or equivalent digital media editing tools a plus
· A valid driver’s license.
This is a full-time position in our newsroom. This position is not eligible for remote work.
