Small Engine Mechanic repairs fractional-horsepower gasoline engines used to power lawnmowers, garden tractors, and similar machines. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Being a Small Engine Mechanic may have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty with 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Small Engine Mechanic relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. The primary responsibilities of our Small Engine Repair Technician is to provide amazing customer service and is responsible for the repair and service of Stihl and Honda equipment. Assembly and selling of Stihl and Honda products is also a key responsibility of the repair technician.
Responsibilities Include:
• Provide amazing customer service at all times
• Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and perform service to power equipment including mowers, snowblowers, chainsaws, weed trimmers, blowers, generators, and pumps in timely and efficient manner
• Ability to review manuals and warranties accurately
• Clearly explain diagnosis and required repairs to customers including warranty claims requiring good verbal and written communication skills
• Maintain shop cleanliness and uphold all shop requirements
• Observe all safety and security procedures
• Coordinate parts ordering
• Participate in all training and development
Minimum Requirements
