Slot Floor Person responds to customers reporting jackpots and determines if the jackpot is valid. May need to calculate jackpot amounts for jackpots not registering on the computer system. Being a Slot Floor Person prints jackpot tickets, obtains customer identification, and completes appropriate forms. Ensures compliance with federal and state gaming regulations. Additionally, Slot Floor Person may require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Slot Floor Person may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.     Under limited supervision while working with management to fulfill goals and objectives in the Slot Department. Works to ensure a consistent and professional corporate image.

    Major Duties and Responsibilities



    • Provide excellent customer service and establish guest perception of the slot department as that of exceptional hospitality and friendliness.
    • Count, verify and sign for banks issued.
    • Complete customer transactions and conversions of cash, chips and coin.
    • Act as host and answer customer concerns and questions.
    • Responsible for recognizing slot codes on slots, clearing simple cash in and cash out jams, and notifying supervisors of more serious malfunctions.
    • Assist slot technicians when necessary.
    • Effectively explain slot machine pay out schedules to patrons.
    • Complete jackpot pay outs.
    • Must be capable of comprehending, and conveying various property events to slot players.
    • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as necessary or assigned.


    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



    • Ability to deal effectively with the general public and casino staff.
    • Knowledge of Casino Operations, Tribal, federal and state reporting requirements.
    • Knowledge of slot and gaming equipment.
    • Ability to work under extreme pressure and levels of stress.
    • Ability to follow instructions.
    • Ability to count and verify large sums of money: coin/cash
    • Ability to recognize and process jackpot pay outs.
    • Ability to read and understand slot codes and pay out combinations.
    • Ability to use a 2 way radio.

    Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience



    Required:

    • High School Diploma, GED certification or equivalent.
    • Six (6) months customer service experience.
    • Must be at least 21 years of age.
    • Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted New Mexico Driver’s License.

    Preferred:

    • Experience in a slot department.


    Licensing Status



    • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required Gaming License.
    • Will require a post-offer, pre-employment and random drug screening.
