Sleep Center Manager manages and oversees the day-to-day operations of one or more sleep centers. Responsibilities may include staffing, training, scheduling, budgeting, and marketing for the center(s). Being a Sleep Center Manager ensures patient care meets high-quality standards. Develops and implements policies and procedures for the sleep center(s). Additionally, Sleep Center Manager typically requires a bachelor's degree. Requires registration as a Polysomnographic Technician. Typically reports to a director. The Sleep Center Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Sleep Center Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     The Center for Sleep Medicine at Adventist Health Columbia Gorge is looking to add a full time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to our practice.  This is a great opportunity to join a community-focused health system that is dedicated to providing exceptional clinical care in an environment that promotes healing, health and wellness. Located 85 miles east of Portland in the majestic Columbia River Gorge, The Dalles features old-growth forests, rushing waterfalls, year-round access to outdoor recreation, including downhill and cross-country skiing, kitesurfing, windsurfing, kayaking and miles of hiking and mountain biking trails.  Mt Hood recreational ski resorts are less than 1 hour away.  

     

    Responsibilities

    The Advanced Practitioner work directly with experienced board-certified sleep medicine physicians.  The focus is working mainly with management broad spectrum of sleep disorders including sleep apnea, insomnia, disorders of excessive daytime sleepiness, and sleep movement disorders.  The Advanced Practitioner work in collaboration with physicians to provide complete physical examinations, diagnosis, and treatment of both chronic and episodic disorders. Seeks the expert opinion or advice of a physician whenever the incumbent decides a case falls outside the scope authorized by policies and protocol. 

     

    The Advanced Practitioner plans, implements and confirms health care goals for patients. The Practitioner typically remains responsible for the patient throughout the course of the treatment, provides the physical examination, the diagnosis, and the health care plan, determines when the patient has recovered, and releases the patient.  

    Qualifications

    Education, Training & Experience (includes Licensure/Certification):

    • Active Licensed PA or NP (Master’s degree required for PA)
    • Board Eligible or Certified in area of their specialty
    • Current DEA License
    • BLS

     Experience:

    • Experience in Sleep Medicine preferred. Background in Family Medicine, Behavioral Health, or Internal Medicine acceptable. Practice willing to train the right candidate.

    Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

    • Knowledgeable with electronic medical records system (EPIC).
    • Positive interpersonal and communication skills
    • Willingness and ability to expand and maintain clinical competence in the specialty field.
