Do you have a deep passion to help victims? Are you professional with heart? The Purple Flower Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Resource Center is seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking Program Director to build upon the organization’s strong history of service and success.
Under the direction of the Board of Directors the Program Director is charged with overall responsibility for the organization’s success. This individual is responsible for all aspects of the center’s programs and operations and must be fully committed to the organization’s mission.
This role requires a passionate, sincere, and charismatic individual with high integrity. This person must have strong communication skills, be able to articulate The Purple Flower’s mission in a clear, compelling, and concise manner in public and private settings.
Agency Summary: The Purple Flower serves adults who have experienced domestic violence and/or sexual assault. All services are confidential, free-of-charge and include 24/7 crisis intervention, daytime advocacy, client support programs, prevention education, and mental health support.
Primary Responsibilities
Financial Sustainability: In partnership with the Board of Directors, oversee the financial stability of the organization by maintaining government funding sources and private funding relationships. Manage donor relations through retention, matching donor gifts to needs, as well as prospecting new sources of funding with individuals, foundations and businesses. Work with community contacts and the Board of Directors to identify opportunities for long-term sustainability of the organization through endowments, planned giving, and foundation grants. Grant writing experience a plus.
Board Partnership: Provide information and guidance on the operations and services of the organization to the Board of Directors. Attend meetings as required, provide information and research as requested. Must actively cultivate positive, professional relationships with board members and assist committee members (if applicable) in reporting to the Board of Directors.
Program Oversight: Lead, motivate and manage a team of committed professionals. This individual will oversee human resources in a manner that is compliant with federal and state laws. Maintain oversight of program managers, ensuring policy and procedure compliance.
Community and Public Relations: The director will establish deep relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including elected officials, community leaders, media representatives, and other key influencers. Will also represent The Purple Flower’s goals, and programs through public presentations, educational community programs, and media communication.
Operational Oversight: Successfully maintain membership with key national and state accreditation agencies. Monitor issues that might negatively impact or provide opportunities for the organization.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services, Health, or a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
Experience: At least 5 years of progressive leadership and management experience at a nonprofit, government, public, or corporate business of similar size and scope. Must have a track record of effectively leading an outcomes-based organization and staff; ability to point to specific examples of having developed operational strategies that have taken an organization to the next stage of growth.
Part-time: Approximately 20 hrs per week with opportunity to grow the position to full time
