Shop and Alteration Tailor alters clothing to fit individual customers or repairs defective garments. May require a high school diploma or its equivalent and 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Being a Shop and Alteration Tailor is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Additionally, Shop and Alteration Tailor performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision; typically reports to a supervisor or manager. We are seeking a skilled Seamstress/Tailor to join our team. As a Seamstress/Tailor, you will be responsible for sewing and altering garments to meet customer specifications. This is an opportunity to showcase your expertise in garment alterations and provide excellent customer service.Duties:
- Perform alterations and repairs on various types of garments
- Use sewing machines, sergers, and other tools to complete sewing tasks
- Take accurate measurements and make adjustments as needed
- Follow customer instructions and ensure garments meet their expectations
- Collaborate with customers to provide recommendations and advice on garment alterations
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Complete sewing projects within specified timeframesSkills:
- Strong knowledge of operating sewing machines and other sewing tools
- Experience in garment alterations
- Customer service skills to effectively communicate with clients
