Shop Service Technician repairs and maintains heavy equipment including engines, hydraulics, and transmissions. Removes, disassembles, cleans, and reassembles components. Being a Shop Service Technician uses service manuals to understand issues and selects the proper tools and protocols for an assignment. Diagnoses issues and performs failure analyses. Additionally, Shop Service Technician typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Shop Service Technician works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. The training process is extensive so we are only interested in hiring someone who can make at least a 2-year commitment.
Install lighting and other equiptment in emergency vehicles.
Wire vehicles for electrical equiptment.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical defects
Able to work alongside an assigned technician to learn and perform quality installation of parts on vehicles.
