JOB TITLE: Receiving Attendant

POSITION OBJECTIVES:
The position is responsible for receiving all purchases relative to food and beverage. Under the direction of the Executive chef and Sous Chef, this position performs duties related to receiving and shipping merchandise. This includes verifying merchandise, organizing its distribution, preparing related documents as well as maintaining the storage area.

- Our amenities include an 18-hole golf course which has hosted US Open Qualifiers and Met PGA events, an 8-lane 25-meter pool with a diving well, Har-Tru tennis courts, a platform tennis complex, and multiple member and event dining options. We have active junior programs in golf, tennis and aquatics.
- We take pride in our daily ala carte service, as well as our first class events created by our Events & Banquets Team.
- Our Food & Beverage department incudes various a la carte outlets (indoors and outdoors; i.e. The Grille Room, Founders Bar, Patio and Salons), catering to all members and guests needs according to established rules and etiquette.
The Essentials
- Receives merchandise. Checks and signs delivery slips. Assists with unloading, as necessary.
- Unpacks merchandise only if previously approved by a manager. Verifies the quality and quantity of items against supporting documents. Accepts or returns merchandise according to established procedures. Calculates prices according to guidelines. Affixes dates and rotates stock of food items, as necessary.
- Completes different forms and prepares documents.
- Maintains files and allocates them to the appropriate departments for processing.
- Organizes distribution and shipping of merchandise. Makes necessary verifications against documents, prepares the merchandise, and moves to the appropriate area.
- Handles customer pick-ups.
- Contacts resource people for various information. Contacts transport companies and suppliers to expedite, trace or return merchandise that does not conform to specifications or purchase orders.
- Participates in taking inventory. Maintains storage area, organizes, and places stock on shelves. Ensures area is always secure.
- Prepares and inventories chips/candies and soda/beer coolers for events.

The Standards

- High School degree or equivalent; or three to six months related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fraction, and decimals.
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving standard situations.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Strong verbal and written skills to manage all business communications using proper etiquette.

- While performing the duties of this position, Employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms; and climb or balance. The employee is often required to stoop, kneel,andcrouch. The employee must regularly lift and or move up to 25Lbs and occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required in this job include close and distance vision.
