What We’re Looking For: The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of shipping and receiving experience. Familiarity with inventory control, metal working machines and quality control are pluses.
Hourly Rate: $20 per hour based on experience.
RECEIVING (80% of this Position)
- Receive product shipments from vendors by opening, identifying, inspecting, labeling, and dispersing inventoried stock or assigning to customer orders.
- Paperwork: Accurately mark receiving paperwork as orders are received. Update an organized file of open receiving orders and scheduled shipments.
- Reports: print out daily open order reports (morning & day’s end) to assist and ensure orders ship on schedule.
- Data Entry: Accurately enter receiving information into an Excel spreadsheet.
- Develop technical knowledge of the product line to process customer orders and fabricate several different types of products.
- Learn and understand the company system (flow of purchase orders and customer orders) to effectively process and prioritize orders.
- Part of a team that diligently maintains, updates, and revises physical inventory daily.
- Perform and lead the Cycle Counts which are usually performed monthly.
- Learn and understand the procedures for product traceability and mill test reports.
- Adhere to a high standard of making and maintaining quality products and services to our customers.
- Perform QC inspection sign off checks for products orders picked by production.
- Adhere to all safety requirements of the warehouse operations.
MACHINING OPERATIONS (5% of this Position)
- Use production machines for the fabrication and preparation of common products.
- Operate company folk lifts after becoming forklift certified).
- Learn and become reasonably skilled with most of our metal working machines.
- Assist with machine lubrication and maintenance on a periodic basis.
PACKAGING AND SHIPPING (5% of this Position)
- Assist with Packing and Shipping as needed.
- Pack, mark and tag products for shipping.
- Prepare and pack truck shipments.
- Effectively operate shipping system for parcels, truck shipments, and export orders.
COMPUTER (5% of this Position)
- Have reasonable keyboarding skills to access computer and online logistics data.
- Become proficient with labeling programs, labeling printers, and pin stamping machines.
- Effectively navigate inventory software.
OTHER GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES (5% of this Position)
- Will be handling and working with all Ernst and GPI products.
- As needed, assist with Production, Packaging, and Shipping.
- Cross training for Production, Production Machines, and Shipping will be implemented.
- Meet misc. maintenance needs around the entire office and shop when arise.
- Occasionally deal (in a professional manner) with customers who come for product pick-ups or repairs.
- This is not a remote working position.
- Perform miscellaneous duties deemed necessary by management.
PHYSICAL AND TECHNICAL ENVIRONMENT
- Must regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds, using proper lifting techniques.
- Regularly required to walk or stand, bend or twist, climb, and reach with hands or arms.
- Utilize small and large tools, hoists, dollies, and other devices when necessary. Exposure to noise, dust, heat, and cold on a regular basis.
- Manual dexterity and mechanical inclination to work with all sizes of machinery and parts.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Able to read, write, and follow verbal instruction in Standard English.
- One year of related shipping and receiving experience is preferred.

COMPENSATION & REVIEWS
- Hourly Position. Paid semi-monthly.
- Reviewed annually for merit raise.
- 30-Day and 90-Day job performance review.
HOURS
- Monday through Friday: 8:30 AM - 5:15 PM (hourly position).
- Lunch: 45 minutes at approximately between 11:30 AM and 1:00 PM.
OTHER
- Smoke-Free Workplace.

- Casual warehouse attire that must conform to warehouse dress code & safety policies.
