Job Summary:
The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor directs and manages shipping, receiving, packing and warehouse operations, while working side-by-side with the crew to fulfill customer orders. This individual will efficiently receive raw materials and ship products in order to meet established delivery times.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the shipping process, drawing up a production schedule and executing it
- Coordinates a team that receives, stores, and distributes materials, equipment, and/or supplies.
- Tracks inventory by performing physical counts and verifying information against warehousing systems.
- Monitors operations for compliance with regulations governing materials handling, storage, and distribution where applicable.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipping, both domestic and international, with a variety of transportation companies and carriers.
- Use software to track, check, prioritize and route orders.
- Manage all important documents such as advanced shipping notice, pick slips, bill of lading, including compliance documentation.
- Direct the flow of packages from preparation to shipment.
- Inspect labels, barcodes, and other features of completed orders.
- Collaborate with other managers and supervisors and departments to optimize.

- Assist in evaluating new package materials and systems.
- Maintain motorized vehicle trainer certification, and train personnel as needed. Also maintain all needed safety practices and documentation.

- Perform cycle count of finished goods.
- Forecast job requirements to maximize efficiency or personnel and equipment.
- Pick orders for truckloads, LTL shipments, large cartons, container shipments in the staging area.
- Perform PO Receipts.
- Material handling includes unloading and loading of stock, raw material, and scrap.
- Utilize the computer for information gathering, label making and data collection.
- Ensure that stacking heights of cartons on the racking system are compliant with the fire code.
- Keep the department clean with aisles open and fire extinguishers accessible.
- Responsible for supervising team members that are part of a collective bargaining agreement and held accountable for understanding and adhering to the collective bargaining agreement.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 5 or more years of experience in manufacturing warehouse environment
- Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office applications.
- Forklift certified required
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred
- High level oral and written communication skills for written and verbal interactions with customers, vendors, and other employees.
- Ability to establish and maintain collaborative work relationships with co-workers, vendors, and customers.
- Ability to prioritize assignments and to manage multiple projects/responsibilities simultaneously.
- Be physically capable of handling materials weighing up to 50lbs.
- Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) and use of a calculator.
