Shipping and Receiving Supervisor supervises workers who confirm and record the receipt of shipments, prepare items for shipping, and load and unload trucks. Also responsible for managing the inter-departmental transport of materials. Shipping and Receiving Supervisor, a level I supervisor is considered a working supervisor with little authority for personnel actions. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Additionally, Shipping and Receiving Supervisor typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Summary:
Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Generates shipping reports daily. Generates bar codes for shipments, generates packing lists for shipments, generates paint lists and other services dispatches as needed. Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and communicates with Purchasing Department regarding damages and shortages. Completes Purchase Order Receipt on all incoming shipments. Routes items to departments. Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies. Operates lift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area. Prepares product for shipment as specified by customer. Transporting product to and from outside service vendors and/or delivering finished product to and from customer.
