Shipping and Receiving Supervisor supervises workers who confirm and record the receipt of shipments, prepare items for shipping, and load and unload trucks. Also responsible for managing the inter-departmental transport of materials. Shipping and Receiving Supervisor, a level I supervisor is considered a working supervisor with little authority for personnel actions. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Additionally, Shipping and Receiving Supervisor typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Has no authority for staff actions. Thorough knowledge of the team processes. Position Purpose:
Provides leadership in shipping/receiving, warehouse, and material handling to meet the requirements of our customers, internal and external. Maintains a continuous flow of product, resolves issues quickly and according to policy. Leads the group in maintaining a safe work environment, maintaining, and improving quality, lean manufacturing, 5S and continuous improvement efforts.
Essential Functions:
· Manage shipping/receiving, material handling, material flow and freight traffic.
· Develop measures and processes to ensure customer metrics are proactively monitored.
· Oversee training of operations personnel
· Maintain/update SR/MH work instructions and assure that they are understood.
· Address equipment issues with maintenance.
· Understands what production requirements are and communicates them to associates, moving people as required to maintain balance.
· Evaluate current and new associates.
· Leads and facilitates daily shift start up meetings.
· Coordinate and control all documentation on the product coming in and out of the facility.
· Continually reviews area for safety concerns. Intervenes when associates are performing a task unsafely.
· Assure that all required bar code transactions are performed as required.

Education and Training
· Bachelor’s Degree is preferred but an associate degree or equivalent experience in an applicable area is acceptable.
· Forklift certified or license required.
