Shipping and Receiving Supervisor jobs in Kingsport, TN
Shipping and Receiving Supervisor supervises workers who confirm and record the receipt of shipments, prepare items for shipping, and load and unload trucks. Also responsible for managing the inter-departmental transport of materials. Shipping and Receiving Supervisor, a level I supervisor is considered a working supervisor with little authority for personnel actions. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Additionally, Shipping and Receiving Supervisor typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Has no authority for staff actions. Thorough knowledge of the team processes. Job Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Preparation and Staging of orders
- Inspection of all trucks before loading to include temperature settings before and during loading
- Loading all trucks according to FIFO plan
- Supervise pallet jacks
- Maintain order in cooler
- Receive all packaging supplies, chemical, etc.
- Unload all trucks while inspecting materials, baskets, and packaging supplies meet safety, quality, and customer expectations
- Maintain shipping/receiving log
- Assist other departmental managers as needed
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar role/environment/industry preferred.
Must be willing to submit to a background check and drug screening.
Job Type: Full-time
