REPORTS TO: Plant Manager
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Schedules and assigns work, instructs personnel and orders material to a work area or operation to meet customer orders. Must have the ability to train and instruct other employees in proper methods and procedures.
Responsible for handling emergency situations.
Reports infractions relating to company rules and abuse of company property to supervision.
Required to set a good example with safety, work rules and area standards.
Ability to develop a good working relationship with the employees they lead.
Must maintain a safe, clean, orderly and hazard-free work area, promote safety at all times, and have knowledge of the safety rules, seeing that all work is done in a safe manner.
Comply with Wayne Metals, LLC quality system requirements, defect-free error prevention and waste reduction.
Work on continuous improvement in efficiencies of kitting, kanban packing, transportation and inventory accuracy.
Strive for 100% on time delivery and 100% quality acceptance for internal and extenal customers.
Make sure processes are capable working with Quality Indicators, APQP and Top 50 Cost Reduction teams.
Manages the implementation of as many automated data processing systems into his area as possible.
Promotes and maintains accuracy in shipping and billing procedure.
Timeliness in scheduling outside work and transportation involved.
REQUIREMENTS:
High school graduate.
Ability to operator stand up and sit down forklifts
Shipping and/or Warehouse experience
Experience in industry and management skills.
Knowledgeable of CDL requirements
PREFERRED SKILLS:
Visual Manufacturing Software applications for Shipping, outside Work, Purchasing and Customer Service Applications
Negotiating skills for freight contracts.
Familiarity with just in time delivery functions and requirements.
Capable of handling customer relation issues by phone.
