Located in our Newton, Iowa facility we are seeking a Shipping & Receiving Operator to join our global team. You will be responsible for maintaining and planning data in ERP system(s) and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, as well as completing certain requests as required by Management.
Key responsibilities (to name a few):
Perform root cause analysis to address service level or inventory variances from management plan and initiate and monitor corrective actions.
Assists in resolving issues with schedule adherence, supplier on-time-delivery, and quality by engaging appropriate internal and external sources.
Create and maintains inventory forecast, production plan, quality of inventory and performance to plan measurements to support service level and working capital objectives
Establishes priorities for assigned supply base to meet customer (internal or external) requirements.
Maintain planning, and other required information for assigned items in ERP system(s).
Requires direct contact with material planners and manufacturing personnel to allow plant to meet production targets.
Utilize multiple Gates' resources and systems to conduct data analysis.
Additional duties may be asked as needed to support/ assist the planning group as well as manufacturing to attain production goals. You will be responsible for maintaining and planning data in ERP system(s) and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, as well as completing certain ad hoc requests as required by Management.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Will be trained and learn all jobs (as needed) within the Warehouse area (Shipping and Receiving) for maximum flexibility. Will be assigned as needed within the Warehouse area. Complies with all safety and environmental policies and procedures. Works for continuous improvement in all processes to maximize efficiency. Ability to work all shifts. Weekend work is periodically required. Other tasks or duties as assigned.
KEYS TO SUCCESS:
Good communication skills. Able to comprehend policies, procedures, and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment and a high quality product delivered on time. Must be a team-oriented individual who understands and supports the team approach. Possess a high level of responsibility and accountability for both themselves and their team. Must be able to obtain a Forklift License within 10 days of job assignment. Possess the ability to read and carry out written and oral instructions. Observe and read instruments, gauges, dials, etc. to determine operating conditions. The ability to observe working conditions to ensure their safety and the safety of fellow employees. Basic math and measurement is required. Proficient in entering data and basic computer functions including excel, word, Oracle, etc. Must be able to drive forktruck.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Two to five years of warehouse experience desired.
Prior to a job offer being extended to a perspective applicant, will be required to pass interview process, background check, drug screen and a physical abilities test.
Current employees with a written or final warning and/or are below attendance goals will not be eligible to interview.
LEADERSHIP/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reports directly to the shift supervisor when warehouse supervisor is not present
TRAVEL: minimal. Less than 5%
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
