Shipping and Receiving Supervisor supervises workers who confirm and record the receipt of shipments, prepare items for shipping, and load and unload trucks. Also responsible for managing the inter-departmental transport of materials. Shipping and Receiving Supervisor, a level I supervisor is considered a working supervisor with little authority for personnel actions. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Additionally, Shipping and Receiving Supervisor typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Has no authority for staff actions. Thorough knowledge of the team processes. We are currently looking for a person for Shipping and Receiving for our Council Bluffs, IA dealership.
Responsibilities
- Receive shipments as they are delivered from freight carriers and assist parts courier with loading, unloading and processing parts from delivery truck. Count, weigh, or measure items in incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information.
- Pull parts for shop and deliver to shop.
- Pull parts for parts counter and parts drivers.
- Receipt parts and put them in designated locations.
Qualifications
- Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Must have excellent communication skills.
- Must be proficient on a computer.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
