Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Shipping and Receiving Clerk. As a Shipping and Receiving Clerk, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient flow of goods in and out of our distribution center. This is a full-time position with opportunities for growth and advancement.
Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming shipments and verify the accuracy of the contents
- Unload packages from delivery trucks using equipment such as a reach truck or order picker
- Inspect packages for damage or defects
- Sort and distribute incoming shipments to the appropriate departments or storage areas
- Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, and labeling items
- Utilize an AS400 system to update inventory records and track shipments
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Experience:
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations preferred
- Familiarity with MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems is a plus
- Proficient in order picking, packing, and loading/unloading procedures
- Ability to operate equipment such as a reach truck or order picker safely and efficiently
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate inventory management
- Basic computer skills and experience with inventory management software
