SHIPPING & RECEIVING I

Job Summary

Receives, verifies, and records incoming materials and supplies and performs a variety of routine clerical duties to support Warehouse operations.

Essential Job Functions

• Performs daily invoicing and tracking of customer orders, communicating between sales staff and customer service.
• Records shipment details in the Manual Receiving Log.’ and enters packing slip data into the computer.
• Prepares and applies identification labels to goods.
• Generates and prints work orders for raw goods.
• Reviews and reconciles daily receipts.
• Creates and maintains necessary reports, spreadsheets, files and correspondence, including Argent software.
• Handles the overflow from the receiving operation and the production reporting process.
• Uses knowledge and experience to resolve basic problems. Reports complex problems to Supervisor.

Education & Experience

High School diploma or GED equivalent required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Competencies Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong PC skills, including MS Word, Excel and Power Point.
• Able to work accurately with numbers.
• Able to maintain confidential information.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and vendors and deal tactfully with the public.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Work Environment

Shipping / Receiving : Fast-paced, standing on concrete floors up to 8 hrs / day. Exposure to loud noise. Functional vision and hearing required.

Physical Demands

Shipping / Receiving : Heavy, lifting up to 70 lbs., pushing / pulling up to 200 lbs.
